The arrangement for the visit of the Tall Ships is as follows:
The ships will be arriving in Waterford from Monday – Wednesday (4th – 6th July). They all have to be docked in Waterford by noon on Wednesday and as the river in the city will be choc-a-block with boats of all shapes and sizes it will be too crowded to paddle there as safety could easily be compromised. We propose to take groups out on Monday (4th July) and Tuesday (5th July) morning, afternoon and evening for two hour paddles. There will be two paddles on Wednesday (6th July) and three on Saturday (9th July). The times of the Saturday sessions will be 8-10am, 11-1pm & 2-4pm and the price of each session is €45 euro. Because the Tall Ships paddles are extremely popular we require a deposit of 50% per person to confirm bookings.
We are still considering which is the best launching spot so are not able to confirm this as yet but most likely it will be somewhere along Waterford Estuary.
I have to inform all prospective Tall Ships paddlers that the boats have not made their ETA’s public but I reckon we should get a glimpse of at least a few as they sail up with the tide on the above dates.
